Quickly Authenticate a New Device via Activation Code
Cyph allows you to easily sign into new devices without having to type in that long master key again! While signed in, go to Settings Activate Another Device On the new device you with to sign in on, click Use Activation Code Either accept camera permissions and scan the QR code, or use the copy button to copy and then paste the auth code manually (e.g. if signing into the desktop app from the browser) Wait for a code to appear on both ends Click the checkbox in thPopularAccount Reset
An account reset allows you to recreate your account if you've lost access, however you will lose all your data and is it a method of last resort. Before proceeding here, first reference the Locked Out of Account article to see if a reset is needed. Cyph takes extreme measures to protect your data. Unfortunately this can sometimes lead to you getting locked out of your own account. Here are the methods and options we have for recovery, depending on your scenario. Are you entering the correct password / master key? Be sure you're not mixing up the lock screen password/PIN and master key and that they're being entered correctly. Usernames cannot be changed. Unfortunately, the cryptographic architecture of Cyph makes this more complicated than simply modifying a string in a database. The best alternative we can recommend at this time is creating a second account and editing the profile of your original account to direct people to the new one.
