Editing Your Profile

Viewing Your Profile

To view your profile, you can click your profile picture in the menu header, or navigate directly to https://cyph.app/#profile.

Activate Edit Mode To Make Changes

In order to make changes to your profile, you must first enable edit mode.

Click "Edit Profile" button in the upper right hand corner of your profile
NOTE: on mobile devices and smaller screens, this button will be a circular button with a pencil icon in the lower right hand corner

Make whatever changes you'd like (detailed options below)

Click the Save Profile button to save your changes, or Cancel Changes to cancel
NOTE: the save button will not be clickable until changes are made

More customization options are coming soon, but currently you can:

Edit your profile picture

Edit your cover photo

Edit your display name

Edit your account description

How To Edit Your Profile Picture

Activate Edit Mode

Click your profile picture (it should highlight if edit mode is enabled)

Select the photo you would like to upload at the file prompt

Crop your selected photo
Use the bounding box to set your desired crop
Click OK to confirm (or CANCEL if you wish to abort the change)
NOTE: you may need to scroll down on some screens to see the confirmation buttons.

How To Edit Your Cover Photo

Activate Edit Mode

Click the cover photo on either side of the screen. (Should highlight if edit mode is enabled.)

Select the photo you would like to upload at the file prompt
NOTE: wide landscape oriented pictures tend to look best here

How To Edit Your Display Name

Activate Edit Mode

Your display name text field should now be editable
Simply click into the field and make changes as you would any other text field
NOTE: Depending on your cover photo, it may be difficult to see the caret (text cursor). Type to see if it is selected. This behavior will be improved in a future release to avoid confusion.

Review changes and save

NOTE: Cyph usernames can not be changed once registered. This will only update your display name. You can however change the capitalization of your username in your settings.

How To Edit Your Account Description

Activate Edit Mode

Your description text area should now be editable
Simply click into the field and make changes as you would any other text field (1k char limit).
NOTE: depending on your cover photo, it may be difficult to see the caret (text cursor). Type to see if it is selected. This behavior will be improved in a future release to avoid confusion.
